Handwoven embroidery in chain stitch silk threads ; 40" x 48"; ivory shantung silk ground embroidered w/ central square (36" x 26") of spaced floral motifs; border to this is of large polmeganate type buds, all done in chain stitch; in shades of green and gold; gold-wrapped metallic threads also used; presently is partially lined w/ cambric, and green linen border; sold as a persian heir cloth; fair condition: several slits in ground fabric, water and ink stains.
