Waist
Grey wool worsted waist with velvet lower sleeve and full upper sleeves; velvet jacket effect is applied on the waist with tab fake closures center front. High collar. Shirring on front of waist. Worn with 1958C 1895.18, Grey velvet skirt; floor length with slight train; six narrow hand stitched and machine stitched pleats in center front and center back panels. The three side gores on either side have a 2 1/2" bias, silk backed fold pleat applied. Satin used for waistband, with a full petticoat of grey taffeta that has an 8" accordion pleated ruffle, sewn directly in with skirt waist band. Exterior is in excellent condition; interior is shredding. Donor is Mr. Horace C. Jeffers from estate of Mrs. H. A. Freeman of Morristown, NJ
