Green, brown and blue floral crewel-work embroidery framed by blue ribbon (0.5”), embroidered satin (0.5”), black satin (1.5”), beige, brown & blue ribbon (0.5”) and black edge (0.25”); gold cotton backing; 16.5” x 12”; good condition, loss of embroidery showing pen outline of pattern below; back badly stained. Contains floral and butterfly motifs.

Chinese legend has it that the butterfly symbolizes an undying love between lovers.
