Fragment of Italian embroidery on a hand woven natl colored linen/cotton (plain weave); three different embroidery stitches in rose, tan & pink cotton/silk thread creating a geometric design (accession card notes cotton, silk and wool?); Embroidery stitches include holbein/ double running, edging/blanket stitch and drawn fabric stitch (probably fagglt, double reversed in combination; the stitches were commonly known as fili tirate and holbein stitch; mounted w/ t85,83,82; excellent condition; 3" x 5"
