Piece of brocaded cashmere shawl; approx. 8" x 9.5", sewn in 3 sections; extremely bright colors: red/ orange/ black/ blue/ gold; motifs obvious; excellent condition.
These shawls were made in small sections by many people and afterwards joined together inconspicuously; this fine brocading was done with a needle instead of bobbins; a second type of cashmere shawl was embroidered; mounted; paisley
