Wedding dress


Blush silk organdy short sleeved wedding dress. Boatneck with snap closure to waist CB. Matching decorative silk organy suspenders over the shoulders ending in a 4” decorative streamers down the side. Bodice and sleeves cut in one with no shoulder seam and a small amount of fullness gathered into the waist. Matching satin ribbon gathered onto the end of the sleeves. Skirt, gathered onto a 4” waistband, is calf length with the underskirt cut fairly straight about 1 1/2 yards around the very deep 6” hem. Top layer is about 2 yards around with a 3” hem gathered evenly into the same 4” waistband and is decorated with 4 large gathered 1” satin machine ribbon spirals about one foot in diameter. Worn by Esther Abigail Clark wedding to Elmer Gordon Jones on Sept. 1, 1921.
