Wedding Gown


Cream rayon & cotton lace full-length bias cut sleeveless weddng gown with matching lace belt and round buckle. Matching circular shoulder cape falls from a square cut yoke and has two rhinestone buttons on the left neckline creating a closure.

Gown worn by Ruth Lawson who married Charles H. Coogan, Jr. on July 6, 1934 at St. Marks Church, Winthrop St., Roxbury, MA. Coogan’s mother (deceased when he was 11) and his aunt ran a dress shop in Cambridge, MA where this may have been made.
