Dress

Embroidered gown on fine white linen. Insert is netting and embroidery is worked onto the edge to conceal the join between the dress and the insert. The high neck is a different lace that fits tightly to the neck. Worn as a wedding gown for Rena Koopman

This gown was found in the attic at 1040 Prospect Ave in Hartford, CT, the home of Beatrice Fox Auerbach. It was probably worn by Theresa Stern Fox since the dress is too large to have been worn by Beatrice Fox in her youth.
